‘Trash the dress’ trend goes horribly wrong
Updated | By tanstan fourie
A bride almost drowned on her wedding day after taking part in the ‘trash the dress’ trend. Take a look at what happened.
Amy Zuno had just married the love of her life Eric and planned to continue the celebrations in the water.
The bride is seen standing on the side of a boat getting ready to jump in.
One would think nothing could go wrong but it turned out that the weight of her dress was too heavy and bunched up above her head as she hit the water - making it impossible for her to come up and catch her breath.
Wedding guests, bridesmaids and her husband worked quickly to get the dress off her so that she could return to the surface and take a breath.
This is not the first instance of the 'trashing the dress' trend going horribly wrong.
In 2012 a Canadian bride lost her life after entering a river as part of her wedding photo shoot.
In a similar situation, her dress became heavy once drenched in water and despite the photographer and bystanders attempting to save her, she was dragged downstream.

Do you think this is a trend that should not be encouraged?
