During this time of year my inbox is jammed with dreamy requests. This email however stood out. Wes and Chelsea wishing you guys a happy valentines day and yay for great love. These two love birds will get to meet Passenger and see him perform live tomorrow night at the Botanical Gardens. Thank you to The Riverside Hotel, Alpha Omega Tours and Tashiky Sushi for making this a dream come true.

Dear Jane

Been courting this amazing girl for just shy of four months. Well you see she was a terror. Having never dated or courted before she knew nothing of the sort. She gave me huge bat. But not enough for my strong ego.

It was so bad that NASA would have named her one of the coldest planets.   I pursued her for a bit and knew that if I wanted this amazingly beautiful fiendish female, I had to work my hind off.  I own a poegie. Well if you know what a poegie is, it comes with a constant runny nose. Especially if you live in Underberg.     My poegie is a two wheeled black and white hipster mobile. In other words. A vintage looking scooter.

This is the vehicle that I used to win this Betty over.  Now let me explain more, I am normally a teacher and was teaching when I began seeing Chelsea. She is a beaut let me just say that. She is literally stunning. So I thought I need to make my move now and try and win this girl over. To my utmost surprise she was slightly interested in me. But there were conditions... after a couple coffee dates and walks I deliberated that she is for me. Now how I got to the next level was beyond me and still is. Haha. The first condition for me having this amazing girl was I needed to ask her parent’s permission. Yes, we just dating, not marriage, yet.   Second condition was that we only court and not date. I am not sure on the difference yet. But I know that it's more serious. Haha. I am cool with it. I mean if you look at her heart, any fool would see what a real gem she is. Really.

So what did I do? Well I held a formal meeting with my them grade 8 geography class discussing the coordinates to a woman's heart. After much deliberation... we concluded that I needed to make a delicious dinner and invite her parents over... the menu, according to the girls in the class was just perfect for the setting. Needless to say I had to cook a full three course meal. I mean I am a bachelor, this was a massive massive commitment! I am comfortable with tuna pasta 3 or 4 times a week.

Anyway, I made the date and had an invite sent. Yes, I even made an invite.   I got home from school and quickly poegie'd over to the only shop in Underberg, Spar. Got cooking straight away and just had enough time for them to arrive at 6. I needed that little time to get my head straight. I mean I was going to court this girl and literally ask her parents and even little sister's permission for this courtship. That's huge man!   What a commitment! I needed to find my cahonies!    Thank goodness I did.   After sitting down in my small garden cottage flat with the tuna starter haha! I am bachelor, bachelors love tuna.! It had to be on the menu!

We had a few good laughs and jokes. Well for me they were all nervous laughs. I was sweating like crazy. They had polished my mains, (roast potatoes, grilled chicken, rice in butternut with cheese sauce and also roast veg). I mean by now I am like breaking all bachelor rules. Eish.   But alas, dessert was soon to be served and the perfect moment was arriving.
