Jane's Mother's Day
Updated | By Staff Writer
This Mother's Day Jane and her family headed up into the Midlands for a taste of country life.
This Mother’s Day was one for the books.
On Friday after work we scooped the kids up and headed off to Bellwood Cottages in Nottingham Road.
There really is something so special about that part of the world.
We arrived when it was dark and frosty but we were quickly unpacked and cuddling fireside in no time at all. Once the kids were tucked up tight we opened a bottle of red and took it all in.
We awoke to crisp blue skies and in no time the kids had their fishing rods in hand and were off to the dam to circle around in the little boat.

Bellwood Cottage is such a picture book spot and a kids’ paradise.
Yesterday I got to celebrate Mother’s Day in the Bellwood enchanted forest with Mikey and our three sacreds.
Sitting on pine needles amongst pine cones and bright red spotted ceramic mushrooms the kids revelled in finding the hidden gnomes - all 10 of them. At the entrance of the forest each child is given a clip board numbered 1-10 and dotted around the trees is each gnome, their number and their name.

We spent hours train spotting, hunting gnomes, knocking on secret doors, discovering little bells hanging from trees.
After a 'sword fight' and unearthing of three Easter eggs that had obviously been left behind for a previous Easter hunt we slowly wended our way back to our cosy cottage - after of course thanking each gnome by name. All the way collecting autumn leaves, acorns, feathers and other countryside treasure.
From the moment I got up to the moment I crumpled into bed I smiled, what a lucky mom indeed.
