The Cell C dog ad everyone is talking about

Cell C has launched a new TV advertisement, which features a humping dog every time the lead character in the commercial is taken advantage of.

People on social media have shared their views - and while some find it really funny, others are disgusted by it.

‘Have you seen the new Cell C dog advert. Crud advert about a dog humping a man's leg. Good humor is priceless but crud humor is bad. This advert is very bad. According to Cell C the dog was trained to do that and not harmed in any way. How pathetic that a dog has to be used in a degrading way to build the Cell C brand” says Stephanus Truter‎.

Saw the #CellCAd for the first time last night.Not going to make me think of Cell C but the man and the dog!! Poor choice,not in good taste.

Meanwhile, Cell C says the ad was created to "highlight Cell C’s value offering in a humorous and light-hearted way."

The company says that while the ad was shot, the dog was monitored by a vet and a member of the Animal Anti-Cruelty League. Also, it turns out that the ‘humping’ scenes were filmed using a puppet.
