Melissa & Doug has donated R30 000 worth of toys to Toy Story this year!
Melissa & Doug is an American award-winning brand of unique, stimulating and innovative educational toys that help children learn, grow and develop while having fun.
The toys have been packed and will be distributed to paediatric wards at St Aidens, King George, Albert Luthuli, Wentworth and Clairwood hospitals.
The focus is on creating toys that develop hand-eye coordination, imaginative play, problem solving and much more.

(Above: The toys, packed and ready for distribution!)
All of the below toys are included in the selection that will be given to kids in hospitals this week:
1. Water WOW! Vehicles - ON the GO Travel Activity
No-mess painting for kids! This exciting paint-with-water colouring book includes four reusable pages and a refillable water pen. Simply use the pen to colour in each scene--details and vibrant colour appear with every stroke! Then let the page dry to erase the pictures and fill it in again and again. This vehicle-themed book includes four scenes to colour, and a search-and-find activity for each scene. The chunky-sized water pen is easy for kids to hold and stores neatly right in the front cover, so Water WOW books make ideal travel activity books and travel toys for kids! This range includes themes like Fairy-Tale, Animals, Alphabet and Numbers.

2. Magnetic Wand Number Maze
One for the goose and 10 for the goat...in the Magnetic Wand Number Maze, the animals are counting on you! Fill each basket with the correct number of red "apples" by sliding the attached magnetic wand over the acrylic cover. Then move the apples to different areas of the maze game to add, subtract, and make child's play out of math! The magnetic wand is attached so it won't get lost; all other pieces are enclosed inside the maze, beneath the sturdy cover. Great for travel!

3. Cutting Food
This wooden play food set is perfect for young chefs looking to explore a little mealtime fun--without the mess! It includes eight pieces of wooden food, a cutting board, and a wooden knife. Cutting the food makes a satisfying "crunch"--and provides a playful introduction to concepts of "whole," "part," and fractions.

4. Habitats Reusable Sticker Pads
Visit a farm, a prehistoric landscape, a desert oasis, a jungle, or the deep blue sea, all in this interactive sticker book! The glossy, full-colour backgrounds are ready to be filled with over 150 stickers: Stick a dinosaur by the prehistoric pond and a shark in the ocean - or mix them up and make silly scenes! The easy-to-peel vinyl stickers can be lifted off and repositioned again and again, so kids can follow their imaginations fearlessly. The range of reusable sticker pads include themes such as Play House, Dress-up, My Town, Face-It!, Vehicles, Fairies and Habitats.

5. Deluxe Pounding Bench Toddler Toy
The pegs on the bench go up and down, playing peekaboo on this solid wood pounding activity. Non-removable pegs take turns showing their smiles while your toddler has fun naming the colous and enjoys practicing fine motor skills. A sturdy mallet is included.
