5-year-old gets invoiced for missing friend's party

Anyone who has thrown a kids’ party knows that these little celebrations can be costly affairs.
Getting RSVPs is like drawing blood from a stone - and then there will inevitably be a handful of ‘no shows’.
The parents of one five-year-old ‘no show’ in the UK got BILLED for missing his friend’s party!
Little Alex Nash was invited to a friend’s party just before Christmas at a skiing and snowboarding centre and his parents confirmed he’d be going. But then on the day they realised he had been double-booked to spend time with his grandparents.
A couple of weeks later, Alex’s folks found an invoice for the ‘no show’ at the party in their son’s school bag – from his friend’s mother.
The amount that was billed works out to around R262.
I think it’s kind of cheeky, and the worst part of this for me is to include the kid in this petty affair.
If the mother had such a problem with all this then, sure, give the kid’s parents a call but to have your five-year-old arrive home with a no show fee form in his bag is low.
Granted these birthday parties are pricey, but at the end of the day instead of head counting rather count your blessings and focus on your kid’s joy. You win some, you lose some.
