Celebs (already) making headlines in 2015

Welcome to 2015! Well, I know it’s only been five days of the year so far but there has been so much that has happened in the world of celebritainment you would swear it was sometime in March.

Bonang took to Instagram to announce her relationship with Nigerian artist D’Banj - of Oliver Twist fame.

Well she didn’t really say “Hey look, me and the Koko Master are dating” but those pictures look very cozy and loving to me.

I’m really pleased for Miss Matheba, she deserves happiness.

And after what she went through with DJ Euphonic, I’m sending her the good love vibrations through the internet to say to her I hope D’banj treats you better.

....conversations!

Then Minnie Dlamini broke the internet after her traditional ceremony on Saturday.

She had a traditional ceremony which she called umhlonyane at her family home in Durban and many people took to Twitter to express how unhappy they were with this. Now, in the Zulu tradition, umhlonyane is held for a young girl when she enters womanhood (starts her cycle) and the ceremony Minnie had on Saturday had traits of umemulo. Umemulo is a coming of age ceremony held for a young woman around 21 years old but it’s not really required for such to happen.

So people are basically upset at the fact that a public figure was not practising proper tradition. The ceremony was rather star studded with the likes of Basetsana Khumalo, Melusi Gigaba and his wife, Radio personality Dudu Khoza, DJ Sox and of course moi!! Lol.

The final story that has caught my attention is this Madonna Rebel Heart story.

So Madonna is set to release some new music this year and as part of her promo work, photos of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King Jnr along with other prominent figures were released - with black string tied over their faces. Needless to say this sure did start something. Madonna later did apologise and try to clear the air with this Facebook post (spelling errors and all) where she stated she was not comparing herself to anyone, and was not being racist (lest we forget we’re still so race conscious in 2015):

Take a look at some of the Rebel Heart images below:

So what do you think of the rebel heart images?

Is there reason for outcry? Are we just a little too sensitive? Leave your comments below.
