VIDEO: Skipjack on a fly
Updated | By Staff Writer

Awesome action as fishermen hook into skipjack and a sea trout on fly tackle.
Skipjack tuna feed near the ocean surface in large shoals and can grow up to a metre in length.
Large specimens of around 30kg have been caught. Skipjack are an important source of food for humans, other gamefish and sharks.
However, pregnant women are urged to only eat moderate amounts of skipjack. This due to mercury concerns.
The footage below was shot in New Zealand.
