Ryan's predictions this week

Its payday weekend, for most of us at least, which means some extra tom lying around, why not have a dabble on the football predictions with Hollywoodbets?

Southampton v Leicester

Southampton would have gained some confidence after their draw with Wolves last time out, but they aren’t quite out of the woods. Leicester are still hunting at the other end though, a quarter of the way through and they are still there and there about.

 

This will be a tough game for Leicester though, St. Mary’s is a historically difficult place to go and get a win.

 

Prediction: 1 – 1

 

 

Manchester City v Aston Villa

 

Villa will have a go here and rightly so, they come into this game off the back of claiming seven points from their past three games which will give them a bit of a boost. They could enjoy this game though, all of the pressure and expectation for a result are with the hosts so it’s a bit of a free hit.

 

City will have to shuffle the pack given some injuries sustained in Europe but that squad is incredibly talented and I can’t see past a comfortable afternoon for Pep and the boys.

 

Prediction: 4 – 1

 

 

Brighton v Everton

 

Graham Potter has come in and the difference is there to be seen, credit to him for turning this side around as well, their last minute equaliser against Villa goes to show the character the side has and all though I loved Chris Houghton – and was part of the noise when he was replaced – I don’t remember Brighton having such an attacking prowess about them.

 

Everton are poor on the road and the pressure on Marco Silva is mounting, I’m going to go with a Brighton win here!

 

Prediction: 2 – 1

 

 

Watford v Bournemouth

 

Finally, Watford are beginning to pick up points, their draw to Spurs last time out was a shock – but I’ve got to admit I had that sneaky feeling Spurs might slip up (easy to say a week later I know).

 

Bournemouth blow hot and cold, they could turn Watford over or put in an emphatic display, you just don’t know which Cherries side is going to pitch up really. I’m going to go with a draw, but I’d leave this game out of the betting slip if I was you.

 

Prediction: 0 – 0

 

 

West Ham v Sheffield United

 

West Ham were really poor last time out against Everton, inconsistency like that is never a good thing in a league as competitive as this. Sheffield managed a huge win over Arsenal on Monday night and Chris Wilder is another who just keeps impressing. I like the Blades on the road and although I acknowledge this to be a tough game for them, I’m going to back an away win.

 

Prediction: 1 – 2

 

 

Burnley v Chelsea

 

Chelsea are on a great run with what is now six straight wins in all competition. Blues boss Frank Lampard has done a great job insofar as dealing with the media pressure coupled with his own fan’s expectations, but I think this game could be a banana skin game for them.

 

Sean Dyche’s side play simple and play it well, you know exactly what you’re going to get from him. This will be a difficult game for the visitors, and I think having a punt on Burnley for the double chance is well worth it – call it my second wildcard for the weekend.

 

Prediction: 0 – 0

 

 

Newcastle v Wolves

 

You can’t really factor in the fact that Wolves has to travel on Thursday evening given the last time they did they beat City at the Etihad! Nevertheless, I think Newcastle has turned the corner in their season and playing in front of their fanatical fans will always give them that little bit extra.

 

Newcastle to win.

Arsenal v C Palace

 

Arsenal at home are an entirely different animal to the laboured canon on the road we’ve seen in recent weeks. I’m not convinced that anything has changed since Unai Emery has come in and the statistics back that up…a bit of a shame considering the love shown by the Arsenal faithful – some even to the extent that they have a cute little Emery at home.

 

Palace don’t offer anything going forward, although I say that on the back of last week when they played City, tough to score when you’re chasing shadows for 90min.

 

Prediction: 3 – 0

 

 

Liverpool v Tottenham

 

This could be a tricky game for Liverpool, and I don’t mean to be facetious. Liverpool will know that they will get tested here even with Spurs’ recent record.

 

Liverpool were lucky to get a result last time out against United; they were absolutely nowhere in the game until about the final quarter. United dealt with their fullbacks better than anyone else this year, limiting the deadly overlap and ensuring their fullbacks weren’t confident enough to get forward and effect crosses into the box. There is every reason to gamble and say Liverpool will be below their best again and if that’s the case why can’t Spurs get a result?

Norwich v Manchester United

 

Credit to Ole and the guys for their performance last time out, their change in shape and approach allowed them to impose their game on a very good football side. I’ve just watched their game in Europe before making a final edit to this article and whilst it wasn’t the most convincing display I’ve ever seen; they are certainly building on positive performances.

 

The Canaries have fallen a bit from grace and whilst I don’t doubt they’ll give United a game, I think the visitors will have too much for them.
