Updated | By Andre Bloem
Jordy Smith has won his first round heat at the Oakley Pro Bali.
Smith defeated Oney Anwar and Matt Wilkinson on Tuesday.
This means the SA surfer is assured of a spot in the third round.
Other first round winners this morning included Adriano de Souza, Mick Fanning and Yadin Nicol.
Durban surfer, Travis Logie, withdrew ahead of his first round heat.
Logie was due to face Fredrick Patacchia and defending world champion, Joel Parkinson, in Bali.
Logie is still recovering from cuts suffered in Fiji.
Patacchia won the heat, while Parkinson will need to surf in round two.
Smith is third in the World Championship Tour standings and Logie 20th.
Championship leader, Kelly Slater, was beaten by Damien Hobgood in his opening heat this morning.
