Glenwood cricketers beat College
Updated | By Staff Writer
Glenwood first team won the toss on Saturday and elected to bat first on a hot morning up at Maritzburg College.
Glenwood lost a few early wickets.
However, opener Joel Veeran batted resolutely to score 50.
The middle order combined superbly to see Glenwood post a very competitive 212 for 8, with Jason Wagener scoring 51 and Matthew Kirkham 53.
Glenwood started well with the ball, getting a wicket in the third over. They maintained the pressure well after that.
Left-arm spinner, Josh Henry, was excellent in claiming 3 for 18 in 10 overs.
Matthew Kirkham finished the innings off. He claimed 3 for 20 with College bowled out for 114.
This handed Glenwood victory by 98 runs.
Kearsney College and Hilton College also met in schools cricket action this past weekend.
Hilton firsts beat Kearsney firsts by 5 wickets.
