'World's oldest' African penguin dies
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
A 40-year-old penguin from uShaka Marine World's Sea World has died.

The African penguin, affectionately known as Dee, was found washed up on a beach in East London in 1980.
After attempts at reintroducing her to the ocean failed, she was flown to Sea World in Durban to join the penguin colony.

Believed to be the oldest of its species, Dee was recently treated for some age-related ailments. She was removed from the flock two weeks prior to her death as her condition worsened.
Staff at uShaka Sea World say the penguin won the hearts of all she came in contact with.
