Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The late Minister in the Presidency, Jackson Mthembu has left a legacy of honesty and integrity.
These were the words of ANC Deputy Secretary-General Jessie Duarte yesterday during a media briefing.
Mthembu died yesterday due to COVID-19 related complications. Duarte says Mthembu had unbelievable work ethics.
"He worked long hours, his belief was that didn't leave a job undone he had a great sense of humour and an ability to communicate very easily with people and to draw them in with the conversation."
"He could be quite stern if he needed to be. So for us, we lost a brother and a friend, this is a great loss. We are still reeling from the shock," she says.

Former ANC spokesperson Keith Khoza says he worked very closely with Mthembu for many years.
"Too many South Africans, those that may not have interacted with him they may not know the strength and the power of the person that he represented."

"He was indeed the son of soil and we are going to miss him dearly, as the ANC and our government will also miss his contribution, which was selfless."
