'We can't be preaching hate', LGBT centre on Ghanaian pastor's sermon
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The Durban Gay and Lesbian Community and Health Centre says it's frustrating when religious leaders preach what it calls hate speech against same sex couples.
The centre's Nohlanhla Mkhize has been reacting to a comment made by a guest pastor at the Grace Bible Church in Soweto yesterday.
The Ghanaian pastor described homosexuality as being unnatural.
Idols judge, Somizi Mhlongo reportedly walked out of the sermon following the remarks. He then took to social media to speak about his disappointment.

Mkhize says people must be responsible about what they say when exercising their freedom of speech - especially if it's not aimed at helping the country move forward.
"So when religious leaders start preaching hate - it really becomes problematic. That's why we get excited about for instance, the hate crimes and hate speech bill which legislates that we should be responsible of how we speak - we can't be preaching hate," she said.
The church has come out saying that it doesn't condone homophobia and all are welcome as congregants.
