Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Video footage has emerged showing a confrontation between a Gauteng traffic officer and a motorist during a road stop.
The video was uploaded on Youtube by the motorist, David du Toit who alleges he was assaulted by the officer.
Du Toit says the incident happened on the N4 Bakwena/N1 South interchange in Pretoria.
He claims the traffic official slammed his hands on the bonnet of his vehicle.
Du Toit posted this caption on his Facebook page:
''This officer immediately attacked us for no reason! slapped our bonnet, broke our keys and left me with a bleeding thumb, pushed me and poked me in the face. If I defended myself I would've probably slept in jail the whole weekend, who the hell is he to do whatever he want and get away with it!
''I phoned traffic police on all 5 of their numbers with no answer please share this, need to raise awareness of what could happen to anyone even if you are innocent!!''
