WATCH: Firefighters battling blaze in Durban CBD

Firefighters have evacuated residents from a building in the Durban CBD.

The building is being used as student accommodation.
The multi-storey complex has been burning for over an hour.

eThekwini metro police spokesperson Booysie Zungu says emergency crews are tackling the flames at the corner of Dr Pixley KaSeme Street and Monty Naicker Road.
"Colonial building is on fire in Durban. The fire department is on the scene. I would advise motorists to avoid West Street and Pine."
