Verulam man accused of child's murder faces rape charges
A man accused of murdering a seven-year-old, Verulam girl has now also been charged with raping the child.
The child was stabbed to death at Hammonds Farm last month.
Scores of community members demonstrated outside the Verulam Magistrate’s Court earlier.
The suspect's bail application is underway. The child's aunt the community doesn’t want him set free.

"We're terrible, especially my mother. Whatever he did, he did not injure the child alone. He injured the whole family. We are all in crisis because of him. They must stop women and child abuse.
"Whatever that they're doing is torturing the family and injuring the family," she said.
