Crisis Medical, who were on the scene on Peters Road earlier, say according to bystanders, the man believed to have been in his 30s had been working on one of the trucks when the parking brakes failed causing it to roll forward.

Paramedics found him pinned between two heavy goods vehicles

They had to place him on a mechanical ventilator to help him breath before extricating him.

He was rushed to hospital where he later died.

In a seperate incident, thirteen people are recovering from their injuries this afternoon after they were hurt in an accident involving a taxi and a bus earlier today near Tollgate Bridge in Durban.

Rescue Care say the minibus crashed into the back of a bus in the centre lane of the N3.
