UPDATE: Clean-up operations underway on N3

Clean-up operations, to remove the trucks that were torched in last night's protest on the N3, are underway.
KZN police say the number of suspects in holding cells this morning after the violent and destructive protests on the N3 at Mooi River- is 54.
Newswatch was informed earlier that 64 people had been taken in. The 54 suspects will be appearing in a court in Mooi River later today.
Protesters forced the closure of the toll plaza last night, after they torched more than 20 trucks.

Motorists passing through the Mooi River Toll Plaza today, have described the situation early this morning as confusing.
One motorist says he drove straight through an unmanned toll before he was stopped and diverted onto the Mooi River East off-ramp.
The N3 Toll Concession says the road is still closed on both the North and Southbound carriageway.
Update at 11h54: The right lane of the Northbound carriageway has been opened.
Update at 14h16: The fast lane of the north bound has been opened. The south bound is remains closed.
