UniZulu students return to court on public violence charges
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
A group of students from the University of Zululand will line up in court again this week - facing charges related to public violence.
32 students were arrested last week Thursday following a violent protest at the KwaDlangezwa campus.
They were upset after not receiving their meal allowances.
A building and several vehicles were set on fire.
The arrested students appeared in court on Friday afternoon with 13 of them being granted bail.

Meanwhile, SRC deputy head Ndumiso Ntshangase says the allowances have now been processed.
"There are no other concerns - the cause of the strike was based on meal allowances. Since it has been deposited - there are no grievances. Students will go back to classes because what they were fighting for, they have already received it," Ntshangase said.
Ntshangase has condemned the actions of those who damaged property during the protest.
"If ever there are grievances - there is no need for destroying property. It's a bad situation that we do not encourage," he says.
