Uber denies flouting regulations in SA
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Uber South Africa says they are fully compliant with tax regulations in all cities they operate in in the country.
But Uber's General Manager, Alon Lits, says there's a misconception that Uber has a disregard for the law, adding it's simply not true.
"We are open to engaging with metered taxi operators and pretty much any operator in the market that we have approached we have looked to partner with them," he said.
"We have continued to do that and we remain committed to partnering with existing operators. However we also need to see some form of commitment from the other side," Lits said.
