Two UKZN students in court for public violence

Two University of KwaZulu-Natal Westville campus students are expected to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court today on public violence charges.
Police spokesperson Thulani Zwane says the students were arrested yesterday allegedly after they sprayed teargas, assaulted and intimidated other students on campus.
This comes after a consensus was reached yesterday by with student structures and management that there would be no more trouble and chaos at the university's campuses.
Zwane says the suspects are 19 and 21-years-old.
"These students were arrested by the police yesterday after receiving information that they were involved in threatening and assaulting other students on the campus. It is also alleged that they also burnt a few offices in the campus.
"As a result, a case of public violence was opened and they were arrested for this offence," he said.
Two other students, including the Westville SRC president, remain in custody after they were denied bail on Friday in connection with last month's violent student protests at the university.
