Two sustain minor injuries after truck overturns on N2 near Hibberdene
Updated | By Chanelle Lutchman
Two people have been injured when the truck they were travelling in overturned on the N2 on-ramp at Hibberdene, this morning.
It's unclear what caused the truck carrying frozen chicken to tip over.
According to KZN Emergency Medical Services, the goods strewn on the road following the accident attracted locals to the vehicle.
The service's Robert McKenzie says the two injured truck occupants were treated on scene.
"The truck had been transporting frozen chicken and when paramedics arrived on scene there was a large crowd at the scene who was allegedly looting some of the load. Police arrived shortly afterwards and managed to contain the scene. The authorities are still on scene and are assisting motorists to pass," he said.
