Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says the suspects allegedly told a passenger that there was a threat that could compromise passenger safety and interfere with aircraft operations.
Mathe says their technicians proceeded to clear the aircraft after only finding two optic scopes for rifles which are not classified as dangerous weapons.
"The SAPS reminds passengers to communicate information which he or she knows to be false to other passengers or aircraft crew"
