Police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the attacks on trucks on the N3 - bringing the number of those arrested to 56.
Authorities say the cost of the damage to more than 20 vehicles stands at around R200-million.
Angry mobs set trucks alight in Mooi River and then looted some of the burning vehicles - in a protest over jobs.
Both the north and southbound carriageways were closed for hours as clean-up crews worked to clear the debris.

The suspects aged between 17 and 46 will line up in court today on charges for public violence and the possession of stolen property.
The Transport Minister's condemned the violence.
"If people want to demonstrate, they must not block the traffic. Secondly, they must ensure that they do so in a peaceful manner. We are saying that we can no longer condone such behaviour. It has happened before - police must ensure that they act on these matters," department spokesperson, Collen Msibi said.
