The Secret Service said Republican candidate Donald Trump is "safe" after an incident Saturday at a rally in Pennsylvania, which saw him rushed off the stage after what sounded like possible shots were heard.
"The Secret Service has implemented protective measures and the former President is safe. This is now an active Secret Service investigation and further information will be released when available," Secret Service communications chief Anthony Guglielmi said on X.
Donald Trump will still attend next week's Republican National Convention, his campaign said Saturday, after the US presidential candidate was shot and injured in an apparent assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania.
