Truck drivers involved in Van Reenen crash treated, fire doused

Paramedics have treated both truck drivers involved in a collision on the Van Reenen's Pass this morning.

Robert Mackenzie from KZN EMS, says both drivers sustained serious injuries.
The truck fire on the N3 at Van Reenen’s Pass has been put out.
Clean-up operations have now begun.
A tanker and another heavy-duty vehicle collided this morning.
Both trucks caught alight, resulting in the road being closed.

It caused a 10km back-up in the southbound carriageway - while traffic was backed up for six kays in the opposite direction.
The N3 Toll Concession says the southbound lanes at the pass are expected to be re-opened shortly - with the northbound lanes running contraflow.
The northbound lanes at Tugela Plaza and Tugela East Ramp Plaza - will remain closed until the traffic backlog has been cleared at Van Reenen’s Pass.
