Truck driver treated after Tinley Manor crash

A truck driver is receiving treatment in hospital after the heavy goods vehicle he was driving crashed over a bridge and onto railway tracks near Tinley Manor on the north coast.

IPSS Medical Rescue says the truck crashed just before 5am this morning. 


Spokesperson Paul Herbst says the driver lost control of the truck while rounding a bend on the link road towards the R102.


''The driver lost control and went over the bridge across two railway track hitting the high voltage lines from the railway track down as well. 


''The driver sustained moderate injuries and required rescue personnel to get up from the bottom back onto the bridge. The railway track still remains close at this time due the recovery of the truck,'' he said.
