Thousands are making their way to Durban for the much anticipated  Vodacom Durban July held at the HollywoodBets Greyville Racecourse.

According to the N3 Toll Concession, about 16 000 vehicles travel on the N3 between Heidelberg and Cedara daily -  the volume increase to 30,000 a day during peak periods.

Minister Fikile Mbalula says officers will make sure that the roads will be safe.

"Many of our people will be descending on KZN for what is well known as a July handicap and therefore it is our responsibility to keep roads safe," he said.

"That way we preserve life, keep our citizens safe and deal with those on the wrong side of the law," Mbalula added.
