Traffic direction set to change as M13 highway undergoes revamp
Updated | By ECR Traffic
Traffic flow is set to change direction on Monday, 27 January at the M13 highway and Essex Terrace interchange in Westville due to a revamp that will be taking place on the roadway.
Both eastbound and westbound traffic will be flowing in the western direction - from Durban to Pinetown.
The traffic flow switch will remain in effect for seven months.
Motorists urged to note the temporary signs, road safety warnings and to slow down on the carriageway.
Head of eThekwini Transport Authority, Thami Manyathi said: “We ask that people exercise caution when using the roads, and to be patient as we strive to improve our roads infrastructure."
"Construction will always slow down the traffic; hence we advise drivers to start their journey earlier and to opt for alternate routes.”
The municipality says it expects the entire interchange completed in 14 months from now.
