A toddler has drowned in the Umkomazi River at eNtsongeni near Umkomaas.
The 14-month-old girl and her three-year-old sister were being carried by their mother across the river when the woman lost her footing in the water and slipped.
"The mother called for help and community members came to her assistance. The children and the mother were taken to the nearby clinic where they were treated," KZN EMS spokesperson, Robert Mckenzie said.
