The men allegedly conned a 57-year-old retired teacher of her pension payout earlier this year.

The victim, who apparently dated one of the suspects, had been asked to deposit the amount into an account - and was told it would be used to start a business.

They then allegedly disappeared with the money.

The police's Thulani Zwane says the suspects were tracked down in Pinetown last night after being on the run since January.

"There will be an identification pilot so that other witnesses conned by the same suspects can maybe identify the same suspects who robbed them. The suspects are due to appear tomorrow in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court," Zwane said.

Police are asking community members who may have fallen victim to the scam to come forward and contact Lieutenant Colonel Mwelase on 083 661 0358.
