Three Durban beaches reopen, Blue Lagoon still closed
Updated | By Tsakane Mhlongo
Three beaches have been reopened for bathing in Durban. The eThekwini municipality was forced to close four beaches earlier this week.
On Thursday, the city temporarily closed the Blue Lagoon, eThekwini Beach, Country Club Beach and Battery Beach this week, after it detected pollution in the water.
It said at the time that a team comprising of senior municipal management were investigating the source of the leak and measures were put in place.
The closures meant that only 19 other beaches were safe for swimming.

However, Blue Lagoon Beach remains closed.
