Some 20 000 people will tackle the 42-km route from Imbali Township to the Nelson Mandela Capture Site near Lions River outside Howick in the Midlands. Motorists can expect several road closures throughout the day.

Organisers say some roads were closed as early as 3 O'Clock this morning with roads due to be reopened by 1:30 this afternoon. Authorities have been deployed to assist along the route.

COGTA’s Senzelwe Mzila says road users can expect some roads to be affected.

"The N3 subway up to Howick Stadium area will be closed from 6:30am to 12:15pm. From Howick to the Midmar roads will also be closed from 5am to 11:30am", he said.

"Then from the N3 Midmar to the Capture Site closures will be from 5:15am to 1:30pm", Mzila said.
