Last week, Julies was shot and killed in Eldorado Park, allegedly by the police, although the exact circumstances of the shooting remain contested.

IPID spokesperson Ndileka Cola says the police watchdog apprehended the suspect on Tuesday afternoon.

“The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has this afternoon [Tuesday] arrested the third suspect linked into the Nataniel Julies murder on charges of defeating the ends of justice and being in possession of prohibited ammunition.

“The detective is also from Eldorado Park South African Police Services.”
