TAC warns of bogus HIV cures
Updated | By Benedict Ngwenya
The organisation says it is working with the Department of Health and law enforcement officials in the province to crack down on those potentially endangering lives.
The TAC's Mzamo Zondi, says with KwaZulu-Natal having the highest infection rate in the country, the false claims of cures have been causing people to stop their treatment.
Mzamo says he understands the desperation of some.
"We've seen many people who stop taking their treatment and they take those traditional medications and those waters of priests who are claiming to cure HIV. Therefore, we are requesting our communities not to report these people. We are going to deal with them thoroughly and accordingly," he said.
