Sydenham teen seriously hurt in pitbull attack

A 13-year-old girl has been taken to hospital in a serious condition - after being bitten by two pitbulls in Sydenham this afternoon.

Rescue Care's, Garrith Jamieson says the girl had been walking on the road when the animals attacked her.

"She was attacked by two pitbulls who had escaped from a property. SAPS who were in attendance actually killed one of the dogs and are searching for the second dog. Advance life support medics worked to stabilise the young teenager on the scene," Jamieson said.

Jamieson says she was treated for serious injuries with multiple dog bites all over her body.
