The eThekwini Municipality is working to fix a major fault that has left large parts of South Durban without water following mechanical and electrical failures at the South Coast Augmentation Booster Pump Station.
eThekwini Municipality says technicians are working to address a fault that's left large parts of the South Durban region without water.
It follows mechanical and electrical failure at the South Coast Augmentation Booster Pump Station.
The city says it required the intervention of a specialist after repeated pump failures.
Repairs were expected to be completed on Saturday night.
The city says priority in terms of distribution will first be given to the Amanzimtoti Water Works and Quarry Reservoir before it resumes to downstream reservoirs.
As a result, residents in the far southern areas are expected to experience water supply issues.
