South Africa hits 60 000 Covid-19 deaths

South Africa's Covid-19 death toll has reached a grim milestone with the death toll surpassing 60 000 on Monday.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) says 138 more people, who tested positive for coronavirus, have died.
More than 12 000 new infections have been confirmed in the last 24-hour cycle.

This represents a 28.3% positivity rate.
Gauteng accounts for the majority of new cases at 69% - followed by the Western Cape.
KwaZulu-Natal has seen an increase of more than 480 fresh cases.
