Sexual assault survivor speaks out
Updated | By ECR Newswatch

Sindisiwe Msimang from Pietermaritzburg was molested by her best friend's brother when she was younger.
She says at the time she was extremely confused about how to deal with it.
She was one of the hundreds of people who took part in a silent march against rape to the Durban City Hall today.
Msimang, who is now in her 20s, says today's march reminded her of the anger she felt after her ordeal.
"I've really been silent about it and then as I grew up, I started hating men, even men close to me like my father, my uncles and my brothers. But then my mum talked me out of it. She counselled me herself and made me stronger.
"[If you've been abused] make it known that that person did something to you because if you're silent the person will carry on doing what they're doing within the community to people close to you," she said.
The march was a show of solidarity with rape survivors. The demonstration was organised by the Aids Healthcare Foundation, which says rape remains a huge problem in the country.
According to the foundation, 66 000 cases of sexual abuse were reported in South Africa between 2013 and 2014.
