Chaos broke out following Sunday's event as thousands of festival-goers exited the FNB stadium.

A number of attendees were robbed of their belongings. Some have taken to social media - saying there was a lack of security and police visibility.

Others have reported attacks at a nearby Sasol petrol station.

The City of Johannesburg's MMC for Public Safety, Michael Sun says  metro officers descended on the perpetrators - who were nabbed for offences ranging from common robbery to assaulting a police officer.

"What we are concerned about is the information received from SA Police Services that there was only one formal complaint received. We want to urge those victims or those who know about the incidents to please come forward and assist us with the investigation of these matters. We will not allow or sit back - while this thuggery to happen in the city of Johannesburg," Sun said.

Footage has also emerged - showing the chaos that erupted at the nearby Sasol Garage. Watch it below.
