Search resumes for missing former Navy officer at Hazelmere Dam

The search for a missing former Navy officer and businessman at Hazelmere Dam - north of Durban - is set to resume on Staurday morning.
The 54-year-old disappeared on Friday after reportedly entering the water to retrieve a drifting jet ski while celebrating his birthday.
Search teams resumed operations on Saturday morning but were unable to locate him.
Recovery operation begins
Reaction Unit South Africa spokesperson, Prem BALRAM says the search has now been scaled down and converted into a recovery operation.
“We did an hour search with the RUSA helicopter. The search and rescue from the South African Police Service and search and rescue from the Metro Police conducted a search from approximately 9am until about 4pm as well. It's more of a recovery operation at this stage. We have checked the surrounding areas right up to the dam wall, the estuaries at Hazelmere Dam, and we could not locate him from the helicopter.
“The police dogs went in as well. After several hours of searching, they had not located the body.”
