Santaco says business as usual as shutdown gets underway

The national
stayaway, driven by trade union federations Cosatu and Saftu, officially began
on Wednesday morning.
The labour federations say thousands of workers are taking part in the high cost of living shutdown, but the taxi industry isn't one of them.
Taxi association Santaco's Bafana Magagula says from their side, it's business as usual.
“We're not part of it, the president of Santaco has not announced any strike. Please take note that Santaco is not part of the stay away, shutdown or strike. Taxis are operating normally as per the president, there is no shutdown in the taxi industry."
Durban metro police say there won't be road closures in the CBD where groups will march to City Hall.
They have advised motorists to avoid Dr Pixley Ka Seme Street. Unions, civil groups and political party members are expected to join the work stoppage.
