SACCI urges new executive to maintain stability
Updated | By Bulletin
The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged political parties in President Cyril Ramaphosa's government of national unity to prioritise the country's interests and maintain stability.
They hope the new cabinet will address poverty, unemployment, and inequality.
President Cyril Ramaphosa announced his new executive on Sunday evening, saying the incoming government will prioritise rapid, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth, and the creation of a more just society by tackling poverty and inequality.
The new cabinet will see Paul Mashatile remaining the deputy president, with political parties in the government of national unity securing ministries including the DA, IFP, Freedom Front Plus, and Patriotic Alliance.

SACCI CEO Alan Mukoki calls for a transparent, merit-based selection process and effective conflict management to ensure successful governance.
"It is very important that the task that lies ahead for us, as South Africans, is very big and could if we are not successful, create a very unstable environment in which business can operate if we don't solve the problems that we should."
