Royal family rejects claims over RDP house
Updated | By Sandile Zikhali
The Zulu Royal Household is rejecting claims that one of King Goodwill Zwelithini's children received an RDP house, built on palace grounds in Nongoma in northern KwaZulu-Natal.
According to weekend reports, one of the King's daughters was the first beneficiary of a multi-million Rand project to help poor communities in the area.
Zulu Royal Household spokesperson, Prince Thulani Zulu has disputed the allegations.
"The King requested that they must build a house where he is able to monitor and evaluate the building on a daily basis. For a long time, these houses have been built but they become dilapidated, without people living in them because of their state," he said.
The Department of Human Settlements, Mbulelo Baloyi says the housing project is an ongoing one.

"Initially it was said that the house would be used as a waiting area so that people visiting the King will be able to see the type of house being built as part of the project in the area."
