Robbers killed in Ntuzuma shootout ‘outsiders’
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
A Community Policing Forum's alleged that a gang killed in a shootout with police in Ntuzuma rented a house which they also used to hide guns.

Officers received a tip off that the would-be robbers were planning to target a business in KwaMashu yesterday.
The SAPS tracked them down to Lindelani, north of Durban, where they witnessed an altercation between the suspects, leading to shots being fired. Police say they then turned their guns on the team of officers.

Five suspects were killed in the shootout. The CPF's secretary Njabulo Mseleku said it's believed that one of the gang members tried to back out of the robbery.
The assailants are thought to be from Chatsworth, Phoenix, Wentworth and Newlands East.
"As I'm part of the community policing forum in the neighbourhood, I'm concerned that not a single black person was killed and there are no colored individuals residing here, which means the suspects come from elsewhere,” said Mseleku.
“What's more concerning is that the landlady who allowed these individuals to rent the house is nowhere to be found.
“The community is now afraid to come forward and provide information in situations like this because they fear they will also be targeted by criminals.”
