ROAD CLOSURES: Sunday’s Comrades Marathon
Motorists have been warned of several road closures for the 98th edition of the Comrades Marathon.
Sunday’s 90km ‘Down Run’ starts at the City Hall in Pietermaritzburg and finishes in Durban.
Over 22,000 athletes will tackle the ultimate human race tomorrow, with hundreds of thousands of spectators expected along the route.

It has led to extensive road closures in preparation for the marathon.
Masabalala Yengwa Avenue from Isaiah Ntshangase Road to Sandile Thusi Road will be closed in both directions from Thursday, 5 June, until Tuesday, 10 June, to allow for the setup and breakdown of structures for the race day.
Comrades Marathon Association says there's been some changes to the race to ensure the safety of athletes.
General Manager Alain Dalais says one of these changes will be a two-start, which has never been done before.
"The starting is at 5:45 AM that's for the elites and runners up to the J batch. There will then be a 15-minute window between the start of group one and group two.
"A big change as well is the street finish, which is going to be outside the People's Park venue, which is neighbouring to Moses Mabhida Stadium."
