Ramaphosa: We must strive for equality

must become a society where young people are able to realise their full
potential.

Those were the words of President Cyril Ramaphosa as South Africa celebrated Human Rights Day.
Speaking to the nation in a virtual address, Ramaphosa highlighted the importance of equality- regardless of one's background or status.
We have strived to meet our many obligations under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights that is the cornerstone of our democracy,” Ramaphosa said.
“We have been able to weather the coronavirus storm in large part because of the strong culture of human rights in our country,” he added
Chairperson of the SA Human Rights Commission Professor Bongani Majola says it has given communities the platform to know and understand their rights.
“Corruption is one of the greatest threats our democratic order. It is high tome that he government walks the talk and take stiffer action to deal with corruption head on,” Majola said.
The commission calls upon on our leaders and all public servants to follow the lead of Charlotte Maxeke and bring back ethical leaderships that is centered on servicing the people of our nations,” he said.
