Ramaphosa: Water indaba must be solution driven

President Cyril Ramaphosa has cautioned delegates at the Water Indaba in Midrand not to diagnose well-known problems but rather to find solutions.
Ramaphosa addressed the gathering on Thursday morning.
"These challenges have been consistently reflected in the report of the municipal strategic self-assessment, StatsSA and the Auditor-general," said Ramaphosa.
"She recounts events and instances where water is now treated as a business and where corruption is quite plentiful."

He urged local governments to focus on improving water and sanitation services.
The president also called for better teamwork between national and local governments, water agencies, and the private sector.
Ramaphosa encouraged municipalities to use the available urban settlements development grant and municipal infrastructure grant to enhance service delivery.
