Ramaphosa promises harsher sentences for GBV perpetrators
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for behavioural change among men to bring an end to gender-based violence.
He made the comments in a virtual message commemorating Youth Day.
Gender-based violence has reared its ugly head again as several women have been murdered in the last two weeks of level 3 restrictions.
Ramaphosa says it's unfair that women don't feel safe in their own country.
He said gender-based violence continues to plague the country and is saddened by the continuous and recurring news of men attacking and killing women in the past few weeks.
